Merchant account
The bank relationship that accepts the money. It has to be underwritten for firearms, which is exactly what Stripe, Square, and PayPal refuse to do. Yours is portable: it leaves with you.
Payments
Stripe, Square, PayPal, and Shopify Payments ban firearms sales in writing. FFL dealers on SiteTac take cards through Authorize.Net on their own merchant account, connected in one click, with SiteTac never touching the transaction.

02 — The architecture
The bank relationship that accepts the money. It has to be underwritten for firearms, which is exactly what Stripe, Square, and PayPal refuse to do. Yours is portable: it leaves with you.
The software that carries card data from your checkout to the merchant account. Authorize.Net is the gateway SiteTac connects to.
SiteTac. It talks to your gateway and never touches the transaction, so no SiteTac decision, policy, or pricing change can ever interrupt your revenue.
Aggregators bundle all three, which is why their policy becomes your policy. Keeping them separate is the whole trick. The full reasoning is in our ranked list of gun-friendly payment processors and the firearms merchant account approval checklist.
03 — In SiteTac
Once your Authorize.Net account is open, connecting it is a single approval inside your own Authorize.Net login. No transaction keys to copy, nothing to paste wrong. SiteTac provisions the checkout keys automatically and your storefront starts taking cards that minute.
Every payment settles to your merchant account at your negotiated rates. SiteTac charges a flat plan price, takes no percentage of your sales, and if you ever leave, your processing relationship goes with you. Plan details on the pricing page.
04 — FAQ
Yes. Authorize.Net is the most widely integrated gateway in ecommerce and works for firearms retailers when paired with a merchant account underwritten for the category. The SiteTac partner program routes FFL dealers to that underwriting, either as a merchant account plus gateway package or as the gateway alone in front of a merchant account you already hold.
From Settings, Payments, click Connect with Authorize.Net and approve SiteTac inside your own Authorize.Net account. Your public client key is provisioned automatically; you paste your API login ID once (the one value Authorize.Net does not share with partners) and your storefront starts taking cards. You can revoke SiteTac from Authorize.Net at any time. Pasting API keys manually also works.
High-risk merchant accounts are priced on your volume, product mix, chargeback history, and license type, so any article quoting one number is guessing. Get real quotes and compare effective rate (total fees divided by volume), not the headline rate. SiteTac charges a flat monthly plan price and takes no percentage of your sales.
Yes. SiteTac is an Authorize.Net partner and earns a referral commission on accounts opened through our links, at no added cost to you. It does not change your rates or your underwriting, and you can connect an Authorize.Net account opened anywhere else exactly the same way.
Usually. Card-present (counter) and card-not-present (online) are underwritten separately. If your current merchant account covers ecommerce, add the Authorize.Net gateway in front of it (the gateway-only option). If it does not, the merchant account plus gateway option covers both.
